So I made it 4 days writing one of these every day. #sad.

I didn’t let myself down too bad because this post is about yesterdays work. This involved trying to set up authentication and authorization. All that rust I was trying to knock off showed itself quickly and basically ground everything to a halt. It seems to authorize on a user by user basis (Spotify calls it Authorization Code Flow) some sort of frontend has to be set up. It only takes one sentence to explain but it took me probably two hours to figure out. Today I’ll be setting up a barebones React frontend so that I can get OAuth working. Then I’ll continue with the original plan of laying out as much of the backend as I can before moving to flesh out the front end.
