Don’t worry, I finally have an answer. I have come to a conclusion about what I’m going to make. And it’s basically what I originally proposed. With some more thought I realized if I focused on the album experience, it’s still different from the (incredible) app I ended up finding yesterday and rateyourmusic.com. Taking the list creation of rateyourmusic.com and combining it with the native play functionality of Discover Quickly carves out a new space for what I want to build.

Since I finally settled on an idea I spent some time today creating a barebones outline of what the app will look like. Below I flex my wireframing skills with a mini-collage of what I have so far.

Digging deeper to try and find if my idea already had been done (after having that happen twice yesterday) I’ve found some posts by other Spotify users asking for something similar. So maybe there will be a subset of people out there who will also use this 😤 other than just me.
